If we are to name one dessert or pastry that binds East Asia (China) and Southeast Asia together, that would be “You Tiao”. Known as “E Kya Kway” in Myanmar, this dessert has been well integrated into the local culinary scene, for many decades or even centuries. Myanmar people dip “You Tiao” into milk tea or coffee. Salween Kitchen serves home-made mini “You Tiao” with clotted milk cream “Malai” which is used in Indian cuisines. You could even try this with Salween Tea Latte and Salween Local Latte, like a local. This dessert would be a perfect example of Myanmar as the crossroad between India and China.
