Farewell Note to 2020

Farewell Note to 2020

Last year this time, we wrote a farewell note to 2019 to march into 2020 with high hopes and expectations, without knowing what 2020 held for all of us.
It was indeed the toughest year of our lifetime and the darkest storm that we have ever withstood. A lot of goals that we planned to accomplish and plans to execute in 2020 were put on hold and delayed if not derailed.

However, this year also presents us fresh perspectives into the way we live our lives, the way we interact with the society and environment, the way we do business and the way we treat people around us – this is the new normal to be embraced this year and beyond.

One of the most important things that came out of the misery of 2020 is the new ways of seeing “social contracts” .. how we can build new level of trust within the organization, by extending helping hands to each other to face the tremendous challenges that cannot be tackled alone but only collectively. There is no doubt that much uncertainty and challenges are ahead us, but together we hope we can make 2021 a better year.

As we say good-bye to 2020, we express our deep gratitude to all the chefs in Salween Kitchen, all baristas in the bar and all service crew on the floor to keep the lights on, despite all the enormous challenges that they face throughout the year, and to HTET MYAT FOTOGRAFíA to bring all the dedicated and unique creations of our chefs and baristas to the attention of our customers through his unparalleled arts of photography.

We couldn’t express enough appreciation to Urban Asia Center and marketplace by City Mart for all the support given to us in 2020. We also sincerely thank GoldenBrown Coffee for being there with us since our humble beginning in 2017. As we are in the final moments of 2020, it is time to let go of all negative feelings caused by the troubles and frustrations you have endured, and appreciate the resilience you have gained. It is the perfect moment to step into 2021 with new energy and strengths.

We wish you a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous Year of 2021. We promise we will brew even better coffee and cook even better food in coming year.

With Much Love, ❤️
